Quarter Plus 

Cal Poly Quarter Plus program provides an intensive academic opportunity for incoming freshmen to accelerate their academic studies and begin their college experience during the early fall when semester campuses typically begin their fall term. This four-week program includes enrollment in 8 units of academic coursework. Social activities and the opportunity to become familiar with campus life and the San Luis Obispo community are added benefits.

Program Details

The Quarter Plus fees total  $3,814. This includes Cal Poly tuition, instructional fees, institutional fees, program fees, housing fees, and dining fees. Textbooks, personal expenses, incidentals, and travel arrangements are not included.

The Cal Poly Quarter Plus Program is pleased to announce that FIVE partial scholarships will be available this year. The scholarships will be awarded based on financial need as determined by completing the 2017-18 FAFSA or CA Dream Application. The partial scholarships will cover the $2,810 program fee. Quarter Plus participants will be responsible for the program’s housing and dining fees. Please see quarterplus.calpoly.edu for additional details on program fess and due dates.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must submit their Quarter Plus application no later than midnight Monday, April 10, 2017 (note deadline extended). Applicants must indicate on their Quarter Plus applications that they would like to be considered for this scholarship. Applicants will be notified of the status of their scholarship via email communication to their Cal Poly email addresses no later than Friday, April 14, 2017.



Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for the Quarter Plus program, incoming freshman must meet or exceed one of the following requirements below and submit a personal statement in the text box provided in the application (250 words or less).

  • Old SAT Combined Math + Critical Reading Score equal to 1300 or higher OR
  • Cumulative High School GPA (non-weighted) equal to 3.75 OR
  • ACT Composite Score equal to 29 OR
  • Two Advanced Placement (AP) Scores of 4 or higher

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered under any circumstances. Applications must be submitted electronically.
